Doom Corporation, Company picnic at the beach... by Mark Morey
I got my first "boogieboard" when I was 8. At the time I lived in Manhattan Beach, known for its endless miles of quality closed out beach breaks. I would paddle out with no fins or leash as far as the impact zone, get caught inside, turn around and get worked. Later, I moved to San Luis Obispo and finally figured out how to ride one of those things. After that, I went to grad school at UCSB based essentially on the fact that it has two point breaks on campus. Unfortunately it is usually flat. To augment my surf sessions, I can often be found at Ventura, Jalama or somewhere nearby via boat. I've been to Indo three times, Costa Rica, Mexico and Hawaii. Many stupid, shocking, exciting and/or hilarious things have happened along the way, and I will try to relay those tales to you...
