Bionic Bill and I drove out to Pozo and did an abbreviated loop up to the top of La Panza summit and Pine Mountain rd. down. We skipped the ride up the first 4 mile climb so as to make sure to be home for Easter supper. About 15 miles and 2800′. I’ll just call it an *interesting* ride. Lots of climbing, on double track and eroded and worn down fire road. A bit of hike a bike, some neat technical up and some knarly technical down. Beautiful spring day with some fantastic vistas. Actually a pretty easy ride except for climbing down the famous Pine Mountain “Stair Steps”.

First rattler of the season. About 3 1/2′ and 13 rattles

Top of the famous “Stair Steps”

Ended from the right. Check that one off the list!
Some random stuff from last week

Sweet rattler! The rock shield though? We ain’t got nothing like that down here. Looks serious.
J,
I’d have to ask my geologist friend Jeff, but *we* are riding a big earthen surfboard right down into the Pacific. FRICTION is making all these land side waves. Still, for me the worn down smoothed out ancient land waves in Utah and Colorado…beckon…to ride and roll.
Be there someday
